About CalcEngine
CalcEngine is a free suite of fast, standards-cited calculators built for students, engineers, manufacturing professionals, and finance users — anyone who needs an accurate answer without the clutter.
What CalcEngine Does
CalcEngine provides 70 production-ready calculators across engineering, manufacturing, science, and finance: pipe systems, HDPE infrastructure, sheet metal fabrication, film converting, structural analysis, electrical design, thermodynamics, chemistry, signals, physics — plus a full finance and valuation suite covering mortgages, loans, TVM, CAGR, DCF, NPV/IRR, WACC, Black-Scholes, bond yields, and break-even analysis. Every calculator that follows a published standard cites it explicitly.
Why We Built This
Good calculation tools online are rare. Many calculator sites are slow, buried under intrusive advertising, or simply get the math wrong. Most never cite the standards they claim to follow. CalcEngine was built to fix that:
- Fast and clean — every calculator loads instantly, runs entirely in your browser, and computes as you type
- Standards-cited — formulas are documented with the originating standard (ASME, ASTM, AWWA, NEC, IPC, IAPWS, PPI, and others)
- Imperial and metric — unit toggles on every input field
- Built for everyone — the same site serves a high-school physics student, a licensed civil engineer, and a first-time home buyer running mortgage numbers

How It's Built
CalcEngine runs entirely in your browser — no server-side computation, no account creation, and no collection of the values you enter. The math happens locally on your device:
- Results appear instantly as you type, with no network round-trip
- Your inputs are never transmitted anywhere — see our Privacy Policy
- The site works on slow connections and mobile data
Standards We Reference
Calculators that follow a published standard cite it explicitly. Among others: ASME B36.10M/B36.19M (steel pipe), ASTM F714 (PE pipe), AWWA C906 and M55 (PE pressure pipe), PPI TR-4 and TR-21 (HDPE design), NEC 2023 Chapter 9 (conduit fill), IPC-2221 (PCB design), ASTM E140 (hardness conversion), IAPWS-IF97 (steam properties), and Shannon-Hartley (channel capacity).
How We Stay Free
CalcEngine is supported by non-intrusive display advertising. Ads appear in defined positions so they never block input fields or interrupt your work, and we maintain a strict no-popup, no-interstitial policy. See Ad Choices for details.
Our commitment: CalcEngine will always have a free tier that includes every calculator. We will never paywall the math.
Limitations and Liability
Every CalcEngine result is a reference value to support your own analysis — not a substitute for licensed professional judgment or financial advice. Standards evolve, materials vary, and field conditions affect every real-world installation. For complete terms, see our Disclaimer and Terms of Use.
